AKOJUA pochette KxK by Le Curine Collection
A timeless and ecological collection made by Korai x Kente in collaboration with Le Curine Collection.
Entirely handmade, the Korai x Kente by Le Curine Collection bags, called "coffe", reinterpret the simple baskets of the Sicilian rural tradition, with style and originality turning them into fine fashion accessories, embellished by bright and unusual colours and typical patterns of Ghanaian Kente clothes.
An all-female collection as well as the names chosen for each of them that, in accordance with a Ghanaian tradition tied to the new unborn, refer to the days of the week: "AKOJUA" in Twi language means "born on a Sunday".
The collection of bags from the traditional form of the Sicilian "coffa", is enriched with an exclusive clutch model, the romantic half-moon shape, a reminiscence of the fan, embellished with a Kente cloth strip and delicate coloured lights.
According to the Ghanaian symbolism, black evokes Africa and the spiritual energy; white represents pureness and festivals.
